Another big crowd was in prospect as it was a Community Day match against the Posh, who are settling down after an indifferent start to become one of our main rivals for promotion at the end of the season.

The main Doombar deliberations focused on our growing injury list and who might play. Most of us were ready to answer the call from Ian Evatt, if it came, but we were prepared to act as the extra man from the stands to boost the squad in what was looking increasingly like a difficult match. The Norwegian Whites were in town to give their support and their Player of the Year award to Kyle Dempsey.

There were mixed reactions as the team news came out - relief Dion Charles had made it but disappointment Ricardo Santos surprisingly had not, leaving us a bit thin in defence against probably the best attack in League One.

Peterborough came at us from the start and were the better team for the first half hour, but we hung on in there and got back into the game before the explosive few minutes before half time. Jonson Clarke-Harris nodded them in front, but we hit back straight away through Victor Adeboyejo. Then came Gethin Jones’ rash tackle. Opinions were divided on whether it should have been red or yellow, but he should not have given the inconsistent referee a decision to make. Personally, I think we will struggle to successfully appeal the red card.

In the second half, the whole team rose to the challenge and successfully defended wave after wave of attacks, in a brilliant re-enactment of the Alamo. Three times they hit the woodwork, but we survived and as the match progressed, we started to create chances towards the end. We came out of it with a well-earned point and full marks to everyone as we showed the resilience and spirit that will be needed to get us out of this league.

It was good to see the opening of the new quiet room and wellbeing hub and the state-of-the-art changing places facility, as well as the new scoreboards and the new advertising strips - sure signs things are progressing off the field as well.
