Wanderers’ busy League One schedule continues with a tough test against Steve Evans’ Stevenage.
The Whites are aiming to build on Saturday’s 1-0 win at Port Vale after Dion Charles’ strike on the verge of half time.
Ian Evatt’s men currently sit fourth in the table, although they have played a game fewer than most of the teams around them at this stage.
Team news
Wanderers have no fresh injury concerns following their tripto Vale Park and Victor Adeboyejo has a “borderline” chance of returning to the squad as he recovers from a knee injury.
However, Evatt is confident the former Burton striker will be back available for Saturday’s clash with Carlisle.
Dan Nlundulu started alongside Dion Charles up front against the Valiants in Adeboyejo’s absence and showed promising signs.
George Thomason is back available after serving a one-match ban, but Gethin Jones remains sidelined after his sending off against Peterborough.
Opposition lowdown
Stevenage secured promotion from League Two last season after finishing second – six points behind champions Leyton Orient.
Evans’ men have had a promising start to life back in the third tier and currently find themselves in third place.
However, they were beaten 3-1 by Oxford over the weekend despite Jamie Reid’s opener after 15 minutes.
Head-to-head
Wanderers have only faced Stevenage twice in their lengthy history, coming out on top on both occasions.
The most recent meeting was in February 2021, with Declan John getting the decisive goal. Evatt’s men finished with 10 men after MJ Williams was given his marching orders.
The Whites were also victorious at the Lamex Stadium several months prior thanks to goals from Eoin Doyle and Ali Crawford.
Wanderers would go on to win automatic promotion that season after a remarkable run of form during the final months of the campaign.
