Daisy Hill will be looking to bounce back from the disappointment of two single-goal defeats in the past week when they travel to face Nelson in a North West Counties League First Division North fixture tomorrow (3pm).

A 3-2 defeat at the hands of Bacup Borough in a league fixture last Saturday was followed by a 1-0 reverse against the same opponents in the Edward Case Cup on Monday night.

But Daisy manager Lee Hill believes the results did not give a fair reflection of his side’s performances.

“Although it may seem strange to say so, there were plenty of positives to take from the game on Monday night, similar to Saturday, even though we lost,” said Hill.

“So we have to build on those positives going forward.

“We had a few days off and then trained on Thursday, and worked on a few things, and we will be ready for going up to Nelson on Saturday.

“Nelson are below us in the league table, but we won’t be taking them lightly.

“They have had some decent results recently, with a win in the league last weekend and then a cup win in midweek, so they will be up for the game.

“It’s an old cliche, but anyone can beat anyone in this league, and it’s going to be another hard game for us.”
