Josh Sheehan played the second half as Wales recorded thrashed Gibraltar 4-0 at the Racecourse Ground.

Ben Davies opened the scoring after 22 minutes and Kieffer Moore doubled the lead moments later after getting on the end of Charlie Savage’s delivery.

Broadhead added a third after latching onto Dan James’ pass and Moore wrapped up the result on the stroke of half time.

Sheehan was one of four changes at the break and nearly managed an assist, but Tom Bradshaw couldn’t quite get on the end of his cross.

The Bolton midfielder was tidy in possession, attempting 42 passes with an impressive 100 per cent success rate. Moreover, 10 of those progressed the play into the final third.

It was Sheehan’s second international appearance of the term, having also featured in the goalless draw against South Korea last month.

The 28-year-old won his first cap in 2020 prior to suffering a knee injury that would keep him out of action for the best part of a year.

He has been a regular starter in League One this season and was on target in the recent 3-2 victory against Stevenage.

Former Bolton loanee Owen Beck was an unused substitute after being called up to the senior squad for the first time.

The youngster is currently on loan in the Scottish Premiership with Dundee. He made nine appearances for the Whites last term before returning to parent club Liverpool in January.

Rob Page’s side are back in action on Sunday night when they take on Croatia in a vital Euro 2024 qualifier.

Wales currently sit fourth in Group D, although they are only behind third-place Armenia on goal difference. Croatia and Turkey are joint-top on 10 points each, although the former have a game in hand.
