Around 180 young cricketers and their families attended the first junior presentation of the North West Cricket League at the Roundhouse, in Bolton, on Thursday night.

Trophies were presented by league president, Frank Hinks, and the various junior team managers.

The main recipient of the individual prizes was Eagley’s Luca Doyle who took the Most Promising Player Under-16 award for his 52 wickets in his club’s first team.

Individual batting prize winners were:- U13 - Lucas Ashworth (Blackrod) who also took five wickets without conceding a run in an inter-league match against the Liverpool Competition; U15 - Edward Lynch (Tonge); U18 - Harvey Seigne (Eagley).

The individual bowling prize winners were:- U13 - Noah Smith (Eagley); U15 - Jack Hamlett (Little Lever); U18 - Harvey Seigne (Eagley).

Blackrod were double winners in the U11s, as were Westhoughton in the U18s. In the U13s, Astley Bridge were champions and Farnworth Social Circle were Harrison Cup winners, while in the U15s, Deane and Derby were champions and Farnworth SC won the Mervyn Porter Cup.

Lucy Walsh won the award for Most Promising Girls Player.
