The North West Warriors martial arts squad have been hauling in the medals again - both home and abroad.

Not only did they have a big team travelling to the University of Hull, for the ICO World Combat Sports Martial Arts Championships, where they won a bagful of medals, but there was also success for youngster Jake Martin competing in Canada.

In total the Vale Street club won 25 gold medals, 10 silvers and five bronze.

Nine of the Bolton fighters were also picked to represent Great Britain and did just as well with two golds, a silver and a bronze.

Club coach Paul Smith said: “What a week it was for North West Warriors Martial Arts and Fitness Centre at the ICO World Championships.

“It’s absolutely amazing - what we achieved as a club is staggering.

“Our fighters has some great fights, this is exactly what we train for.

“From training hard doing all preparation work to getting the results 🥊

of 40 medals - Warriors you did us proud.”
