Wanderers could make it four league wins on the spin when they head to Shropshire to take on Shrewsbury.

Ian Evatt’s men enter the game on the back of a 4-0 victory against Solihull Moors in the FA Cup first round, with Ricardo Santos, Paris Maghoma, Will Forrester and Dion Charles all getting on the scoresheet.

The Whites currently sit third in the League One table and have a game in hand on the sides around them at this stage.

Team news

Wanderers have no fresh injury concerns, and Evatt is pleased to have a few “selection headaches” after a run of bad injury luck earlier in the season.

West Brom loanee Zac Ashworth, who hasn’t featured for a month, has made progress and isn’t too far away from a return.

Joel Coleman also remains sidelined after picking up an injury in training, while George Johnston is a long-term absentee.

Opposition lowdown

Former Bolton midfielder Matt Taylor took charge at Shrewsbury over the summer, succeeding Steve Cotterill in the hot seat.

Taylor’s side enter the game on the back of a 3-2 win against Colchester in the FA Cup thanks to goals from Dan Udoh, Jordan Shipley and Elliot Thorpe.

The Shropshire club are 18th in the table, three points above the drop zone, having won five of their 15 league games so far.

Head-to-head

Wanderers have faced Shrewsbury 28 times in their history, with a record of 16 wins, four draws and eight defeats.

Evatt’s men ran out 1-0 winners when the sides last met in April, with Josh Sheehan getting the decisive goal.

The Whites were beaten 3-2 on their last trip to Shrewsbury despite a brace from Charles either side of half time.
