WANDERERS (3-5-2).

NATHAN BAXTER…6.5.

Blackpool did not put a shot on target – but Baxter stayed alert and his calmness spread around the defence in the closing stages of the game.

GETHIN JONES…7.

Struck the right balance between pushing on and helping Dacres-Cogley and keeping an eye on the likes of Thompson and Carey, who looked a threat.

RICARDO SANTOS…7.

In the opening 20-30 minutes there were a few fractional moments where the Bolton captain didn’t look entirely comfortable. He certainly came good in the end.

EOIN TOAL…7.

Kept a lid on Hamilton and Co down the Blackpool right and continues to grow in confidence with every game. Looking every inch a player who should be at the top end of League One.

JOSH DACRES-COGLEY…7.

Recovered well from a bruising night in Shrewsbury and was a regular out-ball on the right flank. Quite how he got booked is anyone’s guess.

JOSH SHEEHAN…7.

Another one who picked up a harsh yellow – especially considering he had been kicked from pillar to post beforehand. Kept his nerve and looked to be positive on the ball.

PARIS MAGHOMA…7.5.

Still building towards those 90-minute performances, and maybe a few daft decisions, but what a great player to watch in this sort of form. Waltzed past challenges in a packed midfield.

GEORGE THOMASON…8.5.

There hasn’t been a happier winning goal-scorer in a long time. Thomason’s Bolton journey seemingly just gets better and better. Excellent on the ball, too.

RANDELL WILLIAMS…7.5.

Hit the woodwork, brought another good save out of Grimshaw, and looked a constant threat on the left. Pennington struggled to contain him throughout.

DION CHARLES…6.5.

Would have loved to score against his former club, and had a big chance when Thomason put him through the middle in the second half. Chased everything and never let Blackpool settle.

VICTOR ADEBOYEJO…6.

One half-decent chance which was blasted high and wide – and despite a lot of hard graft, it did sum up his afternoon.

Subs: Bodvarsson 7.5, 64 (for Adeboyejo) – Played a massive part in Wanderers’ win.

Morley 72 (for Maghoma), Nlundulu 86 (for Charles).

Not used: Coleman, Iredale, Mendes Gomes, Jerome.

Blackpool (3-5-2): Grimshaw; Pennington, Ekpiteta, Husband; Hamilton, Morgan, Norburn, Carey, Thompson; Rhodes, Dembele.

Subs: Dale 73 (Dembele), Joseph 80 (for Thompson), Kouassi 86 (for Morgan).

Not used: O’Donnell, Connolly, Weir, Oakley-Boothe.

Referee: Ben Toner 5/10 – Inconsistent in his punishment of fouls throughout 90 minutes. Tried to keep play going, which should be a positive, but tended to forget about the initial infringements.

Attendance: 24,238 (4,171)
