Wanderers could book their spot in the FA Cup third round when League Two Harrogate come to town this weekend.

The Whites beat non-league Solihull Moors 4-0 in the opening round thanks to goals from Ricardo Santos, Paris Maghoma, Will Forrester and Dion Charles.

Ian Evatt’s men had won eight successive matches prior to their goalless draw at promotion rivals Oxford in midweek.

Team news

Bolton have no fresh injury concerns to report following a hard-fought encounter at the Kassam Stadium.

Randell Williams is back in contention after missing the past couple of games due to tendinopathy, and Evatt confirmed the wing-back has come through training with no setbacks.

Zac Ashworth is also available after getting more than an hour under his belt for the B Team against Notts County earlier this week. The West Brom loanee hasn’t featured for the first team since October 7.

Meanwhile, Harrogate are waiting on the fitness of Matty Daly and Levi Sutton but Mark Oxley, Toby Sims, Sam Folarin and James Daly are all ruled out.

Opposition lowdown

The Sulphurites are aiming to reach the FA Cup third round for only the second time, beating Marine 5-1 in the opening round.

Simon Weaver’s side enter the game on the back of a 2-2 draw against Wrexham, coming back from 2-0 down thanks to goals from Dean Cornelius and Anthony O’Connor.

Harrogate currently sit 16th in the League Two table, having won seven of their 20 fixtures since the start of the campaign.

Head-to-head

Wanderers have only faced the Yorkshire club twice in competitive games, coming out on top on both occasions.

The Whites ran out 2-1 winners when the sides last met at the Toughsheet Community Stadium in April 2021, with Kieran Lee and Eoin Doyle both getting on the scoresheet.

Bolton won by the same scoreline at the EnviroVent Stadium several months prior as Evatt claimed his first three points in the hot seat. Doyle and Nathan Delfouneso were on target that day.
