Wanderers fans have snapped up their allocation of tickets for the upcoming trip to Fleetwood Town in “a matter of minutes”.

Ian Evatt’s men are due to make the short trip to the Highbury Stadium on Friday, December 29 (7.45pm).

The Whites were allocated 1,090 tickets, split between standing and seated sections, for the fixture against the Cod Army.

Wanderers thanked fans for their “terrific support” in a message published via the official club website.

Fleetwood currently sit 21st in the League One table – two points from safety heading into the busy Christmas period.

Lee Johnson took charge at the Highbury Stadium in September following Scott Brown’s sacking after a poor start to the campaign.

The Cod Army suffered a 3-0 defeat at Northampton in their last outing and have failed to win any of their last five matches in all competitions.

After the final whistle, Johnson said: “We have a very young back four and although there is quality in there, there is also a naivety and we have got to try and coach discipline into them because individual errors are costing us.”

He added: “We need to be more together as a team and we need to move out any guys who are not fully behind us for whatever reasons. That is just a natural evolution of the squad.”

Wanderers ran out 3-1 winners when the sides met at the Toughsheet Community Stadium earlier this season thanks to a hat trick from Victor Adeboyejo. Bolton finished the game with 10 men after Dion Charles was sent off for a second bookable offence.

Evatt’s men were also victorious on their last trip to Fleetwood in November 2022, with Conor Bradley and Dapo Afolayan both on target in the final five minutes to complete a dramatic comeback.
