Wanderers will be aiming to return to winning ways in League One when Bristol Rovers come to town this weekend.

Ian Evatt’s men were unbeaten in 11 games in all competitions prior to their trip to Portsmouth on Monday night.

The Whites were beaten 2-0 at Fratton Park after goals from Conor Shaughnessy and Kusini Yengi either side of half time.

Team news

Dan Nlundulu has gone under the knife after suffering a hamstring tear in the 2-0 win against Port Vale, and Evatt says the forward’s surgery went “very well”.

Josh Sheehan is unavailable for this weekend’s fixture after picking up a fifth booking of the season for a foul on Joe Morrell.

George Johnston is also a long-term absentee, but Wanderers have no fresh concerns from their clash with Pompey.

As for the visitors, Jack Hunt is waiting on the results of a scan after picking up a groin injury and is unlikely to be involved this weekend.

Opposition lowdown

Bristol Rovers enter the game on the back of a 4-2 victory at Crewe Alexandra in the FA Cup second round thanks to John Marquis, James Wilson and Anthony Evans, plus a Ryan Cooney own goal.

Matt Taylor took charge at the Memorial Stadium earlier this month, succeeding Joey Barton in the hot seat.

The Gas currently sit 13th in the table but have failed to win any of their last four matches in the league.

Head-to-head

Wanderers have faced Rovers 35 times in their history, with a record of 14 wins, 11 draws and 10 defeats.

Evatt’s men ran out 3-2 winners when the sides last met on May 7, with Shola Shoretire, Nlundulu and Aaron Morley all getting on the scoresheet that day.

The points were shared when the sides last met at the Toughsheet Community Stadium, with Dion Charles scoring a late equaliser after Josh Coburn had netted an early opener.
