Hull City boss Liam Rosenior has played down interest in Wanderers forward Dion Charles.

Northern Irish international Charles has scored 16 goals for the Whites since the start of the campaign. He was also on target in a Euro qualifier against Denmark a couple of months ago.

Hull ran their eye over Charles during the recent 2-0 victory against Fleetwood at the Highbury Stadium.

However, Rosenior says he isn’t planning to bolster his frontline due to the options they already have in that area.

“I don’t want to speak about individual players but striker is not a position I’m looking at,” he told BBC Humberside.

“I’ve just brought in Billy Sharp, I’ve got Aaron Connolly and Liam Delap. I’m really happy with my central striking options and that is not an area of the pitch we are looking in January to strengthen.”

Hull currently sit seventh in the Championship table, only a point outside the play-off places at this stage.

The Tigers were beaten 3-1 by Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough in their last outing despite Scott Twine's penalty.

When asked last week about potential interest in Charles, Bolton boss Ian Evatt said: “We are extremely ambitious, and we know to achieve those ambitions we have to keep our best players.

“Listen, if someone comes and offers us a fortune, we will always try and make the best decision for Bolton Wanderers, that is just how we are. Player trading is a huge part of football.

“But we are not afraid in any way of that. We are well-prepared, we know what we need to do, we know the squad we have is strong and we are striving for more improvement.”

Wanderers are back in FA Cup action this weekend when they head to Kenilworth Road to take on Premier League Luton Town.
