Former Wanderers defender Harry Brockbank is back in the North West after joining Radcliffe.

Brockbank arrives at Stainton Park following a spell in the League of Ireland with St Patrick’s Athletic, playing alongside Eoin Doyle and Conor Carty at one stage.

The 25-year-old departed Bolton in 2022 to pursue an opportunity with El Paso Locomotive in the United States. However, he failed to settle overseas and returned home several months later.

Brockbank had progressed through the Whites’ Academy ranks from the age of eight and went on to make 36 first-team appearances.

The defender is best known for captaining the youngest side in Wanderers’ history against Coventry in 2019 while the first-team squad had gone on strike due to issues off the pitch.

He is now eager to help Radcliffe maintain their place at the top of the Northern Premier League top flight and secure promotion.

“I’m delighted to have joined Radcliffe, I’ve been in training now for a few weeks and enjoyed my time getting to know the lads and working with the managers (Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley),” he told the club’s website.

“Obviously, the team has been doing well so far this season and I was hoping I could come in and help carry on the good form the lads are in - hopefully ending the campaign with some silverware to our name.

“I’ve got a few friends already here and I’ve known the gaffers for a while now, so as soon as I heard about the interest it was something I wanted to be a part of.

“I’m just looking forward to getting out there now, start playing football and hopefully win something at the end of the year.”

Radcliffe secured a 2-0 victory at Lancaster City on Tuesday night thanks to goals from Willem Tomlinson and Jordan Hulme. Brockbank came off the bench for the final 15 minutes at the Giant Axe.
