Wanderers’ hectic schedule continues this weekend when Cheltenham come to town in League One action.

Ian Evatt’s men enter the game on the back of a professional 3-1 victory against Accrington in the EFL Trophy round of 16. Cameron Jerome, Aaron Morley and Kyle Dempsey were all on target at the Wham Stadium.

The Whites have won five of their last six matches, including the goalless draw against Premier League Luton in the FA Cup third round.

Team news

George Thomason is back available after missing the win in midweek through suspension. The midfielder served a one-match ban in the EFL Trophy after picking up bookings against Stockport and Port Vale.

Jerome pulled up in the second half against Accrington, but Evatt confirmed it was cramp rather than anything more serious.

Wanderers have no fresh injury concerns despite their busy fixture list, with George Johnston and Dan Nlundulu the only long-term absentees.

As for the visitors, striker Rob Street is back available after missing a game due to the concussion protocol.

Opposition lowdown

Cheltenham had a tough start to the campaign but have shown improvement since Darrell Clarke took charge in September.

The Robins stunned leaders Portsmouth last time out thanks to a quickfire double from Liam Sercombe at Whaddon Road.

Clarke’s side have now won three of their last five league matches and sit 22nd in the table – three points from safety.

Head-to-head

Wanderers have only faced Cheltenham eight times, with a record of four wins, two draws and two defeats.

Evatt’s men ran out 3-0 winners when the sides met at Whaddon Road in August. Dion Charles bagged a brace either side of Liam Smith’s own goal.

The Whites also came out on top at the Toughsheet Community Stadium last season, with Kyle Dempsey getting the decisive goal 10 minutes from time.
