WILL Forrester faces a potential four-week lay-off after suffering a tear in his hamstring during the FA Cup replay defeat against Luton Town.

The defender was withdrawn at half time on Tuesday night, with subsequent scans showing a grade 2B tear.

Wanderers may now have to bring in defensive cover with Gethin Jones away on international duty until next month.

Ian Evatt confirmed that Randell Williams missed out against Luton through illness and has now made a full recovery, while Kyle Dempsey also had a minor hamstring issue which has now cleared up.

“Will is out for a few weeks, which is obviously not ideal while Geth is away, so we might have to change some of our transfer plans,” he said. “It is something we are just going to have to deal with.

“We have to be patient. Will being Will, he wanted to continue after half time but Matt Barrass made that call and it was the right one, given what the image said.

“We caught it at exactly the right time and now we will just rehab him and get him back.

“Obviously Will is gutted because he was just getting a run in the team. But now it is other people’s responsibility to step up and make sure they play well and do the job we need, and also for us to decide if we need any more cover in.”

Williams was not in the squad to face Cheltenham or Luton but will be available for selection at Leyton Orient, along with a few others who have carried injuries and illnesses.

“Randell should be fine,” he said. “We have had a little bit if illness in the camp this week and both Paris (Maghoma) and Victor (Adeboyejo) played on Tuesday with it.

“Kyle had some tightness in his hamstring, so we left him on Tuesday, but they will all be back and fine.

“There are still some bits of illness knocking about, it seems to be going through us all, but that is the nature of winter football, and we have to see who is OK for Saturday and picking a team capable of winning on Saturday.”

Evatt also confirmed that defender George Johnston was in the final stages of his rehabilitation after knee surgery.
