ON A cold, gloomy, overcast day, we made our way down to the Toughsheet, with the weather matching the mood of most fans after the setbacks at Blackpool and Wigan.

The Doombar deliberations could not find an answer to how we lost on Tuesday night. The result stunned Bolton fans and the doomsayers were quick to come out of the woodwork.

Ian Evatt has not been short of advice this week. But let’s get real. Nobody said it was going to be easy, but we have still got a quarter of the season to go.

Our friends from Cambridge were the visitors and Elias Kachunga was given a warm welcome back.

As it turned out, it was a comfortable win, especially after George Thomason put us ahead. It was particularly pleasing that Aaron Collins got his first of hopefully many goals for us.

Ian Evatt might think that Aaron is one for the future, but the reality is, we need him now. .

Everybody is entitled to their opinions. The fact that so many fans are having their say, shows what passion they have got for their beloved Wanderers.

But now is the time for unity, not division. Negative comments on social media are not going to help anybody’s confidence. The abusive comments need to stop before they do any serious harm.

We are all in this together. We are all making vital tackles, taking shots and glancing headers with the team. We are with them for every breath that they take. 11 more cup finals to play. Every game will be a tough challenge, with two difficult away games at Barnsley and Exeter next week.

But let’s keep together on this one because without that, we will not have a chance. Don’t make it easy for our opponents. Despite the setbacks and injuries to key players, we can still do this.

Off the field, there was welcome news about the Swiss consortium who have bought into the Wanderers.

They believe in the future of Bolton Wanderers and so should we. Let’s keep together and roar the Wanderers into the Championship. Together we shall overcome.
