Will Forrester is confident Wanderers have what it takes to finish the season strongly – and hopes that will start against Reading.

The Whites are six points behind second-place Derby following the goalless draw at Stevenage on Good Friday. However, Ian Evatt’s side have played a game fewer than the Rams at this stage.

“As a group, we know we have got to try and win all six games and I think we are capable of that,” said Forrester.

“I feel like we are the best team in the league - the way we play. We have just got to stay consistent, keep churning out results and see where we end up at the end of the season.”

He added: “Everyone is frustrated because we know what we are capable of and we weren’t quite at the levels that we know we can be (at Stevenage).

“Obviously, it is a tough place to come – everyone knows that – and the pitch didn’t really help us. It was very sticky and bobbly, but we don’t use that as an excuse. We know that we had enough chances to put the game to bed.”

Reading head to the Toughsheet Community Stadium full of confidence following back-to-back victories against Cambridge and Northampton.

The Royals now have a six-point cushion above the relegation zone as they battle to preserve their third tier status.

“Every game now until the end of the season is a massive game, like they have been all season,” Forrester continued.

“We are just focused on that game now and we will rest, recover and look towards Reading on Monday.

“It is obviously a massive game, I think the fans will see it as a massive game. We are going to try to put on a performance, get the win and hopefully go on a run until the end of the season. Hopefully, we can finish the job.”

League One continues to throw up surprises, with Barnsley and Peterborough losing against Cambridge and Carlisle respectively on Good Friday.

“It is crazy, I think that is why it is such an exciting league,” the defender added. “Anyone can beat anyone on their day, we just have to keep focusing on ourselves.

“A lot of teams have come (to Stevenage) this season and really struggled. They are an effective team at what they do, they have good players for the way they play.

“We can’t get down, we have another game coming up on Monday and are looking ahead to that now.”

Nathan Baxter and Dion Charles have been big misses in recent weeks but the pair could be back available for the trip to Bristol Rovers.

“It is a boost whenever a player is coming back because we know the group we have got, everyone plays a part,” said Forrester. “It will be good to have them back.”
