Daisy Hill host Tempest United at the Plumb Factory Stadium tomorrow night in the first round of the Bolton Hospital Cup (7.45pm).

The tie is a repeat of the 2022 final in the competition, which Tempest won 1-0, and after a good performance against Atherton LR on Easter Monday in a league game, Daisy manager Lee Hill is looking for his side to use the competitive nature of the Hospital Cup to finish the season on a high.

“We’ve played teams and got really good results against teams at the top of the table (in North West Counties League First Division North), but too many times this season we haven’t shown consistency and had poor results against teams lower in the league,” said Hill.

“We’ve just got one league game left to play, and the Hospital Cup offers us a chance to use it as a platform to build on, and for what we are looking to do next season it’s important that we win as many games as we can up to the end of this season.

“We put in a good performance on Monday against a good Atherton LR side who are probably going to be promoted, so we need to take that level of performance into the game against Tempest.

“We know they will be up for it as well, and it promises to be a good game.”
