CMB and Eagley have booked their places in the semi-finals of the Bolton Hospital Cup after emerging victorious from their quarter-final ties.

On Monday evening, CMB needed penalties to edge past North Walkden, after the tie ended 1-1 at the end of a closely-fought 90 minutes at Chew Moor.

North Walkden took the lead inside the first minute when Finley Blackshaw side-footed home from the first attack of the match.

But the home side were level on 17 minutes when Charlie Scholes converted a penalty.

An evenly-contested game failed to produce any further scoring, and the teams were still tied at 3-3 after five penalties had been taken by both sides in the resulting shootout.

CMB’s Hayden Taylor eventually struck the winning spot-kick to win the shootout 5-4 for his side.

On Tuesday evening, Eagley confirmed their place in the last four after a 4-2 win against Atherton Town at the Eagley Sports Complex.

A Finlay Stafford header put the Eagles a goal up four minutes before half time, but Town hit back in fine style with a cracking 35-yard shot from Daniel Greene two minutes later, levelling the scores at the break.

Eagley took control in the early stages of the second half, and goals from Harry Wood and Kieran Lomax put them 3-1 ahead by the midway point.

Town’s Ben Patel reduced the deficit with a fine half-volley on 71 minutes, but a fourth goal from Alfie Cowan eight minutes from time sealed victory for the home side.

In the remaining last-eight ties, Hindsford host Atherton LR at Squires Lane tonight (7pm), and the final match sees Daisy Hill host Walshaw Sports at the Plumb Factory Stadium on Saturday (3pm).
