Daisy Hill will be looking to bounce back from the disappointing Monday night defeat at home to Steeton when they travel to face Maghull on Saturday in their latest fixture in the North West Counties League First Division North (3pm).
The Merseysiders joined the league in the summer and have made an impressive start to the season, collecting 11 points from five games, and have scored 12 goals in their last three games.
But after Daisy’s convincing win at Thornton Cleveleys last weekend was followed by a sub-standard performance on Monday night, boss Lee Hill is looking for a reaction from his players when they make the trip to the DT Hughes Community Stadium.
“Travelling away to a new team in the league who have started well is going to be tough, and we need to make sure we are better on Saturday than we were on Monday night,” said Hill.
“We have had a decent start to the league season, but I think Monday night’s game against Steeton was the most disappointing so far.
“We shouldn’t be losing at home to teams who are in and around us in the league, we have got to be winning those games.
“It was a disappointing evening on Monday, but we’ve picked the bones out of the game and we’ll see where we go from here.
“We trained midweek, regrouped, and now we go again on Saturday.”
