Stevenage boss Alex Revell has revealed that Louis Thompson and Lewis Freestone have picked up injuries ahead of their trip to Wanderers on the final day.
Freestone needs an operation on his hand and will not travel with the squad to the Toughsheet Community Stadium.
Revell is still waiting to learn the extend of Thompson’s problem after the midfielder was forced off in the first half against Rotherham last weekend.
“We have lost a couple,” the manager told the club channels. “Lewis Freestone needs an operation on his hand so he won’t be travelling.
“Louis, we are kind of waiting for the news. It didn’t look great if I am honest, and we are just waiting to piece all the information together to find out how long we will be without Louis.
“It is a big blow because he has been colossal this year. He’s a massive part of this group and that is why we made the decision that he is here for two more years.
“That is a blow but we have people ready to step in, people wanting to prove that they should be playing.”
Stevenage are searching for a victory which could see them finish in the top half depending on results elsewhere in the division.
“We’re all looking forward to the game,” Revell added. “I think it’s a really good game for us to have as the last game of the season.
“Going to a big club, a big stadium, you have got to be at your best there to get a result there. We had a couple of days off after the hectic week we had last week.
“The players have come in the last two days and it’s quite easy when it’s the end of the season to drop your levels, but they have been really good.
“That is what you expect, it has been a good week in terms of training. Now we have got one final trip to go and get three more points on the board.”
Revell also gave his verdict on Wanderers and what he expects this weekend after the Whites missed out on a play-off spot.
“Obviously, I think it has been a frustrating year for them to miss out,” he said. “Schuey has gone in there and taken someone else’s squad so I presume there will be changes there in the summer.
“He is a good manager and I think he will be frustrated that he hasn’t got into that top six because a club that size should be there or thereabouts.
“For us, it’s a really good game to go to. I think we can go there, go and enjoy what has been a positive season and just show people how good we are. It is about trying to finish as high as we can and get in that top half.”
