Daeshon Lawrence is determined to build on his “amazing" experience around the first team at Wanderers.
Lawrence enjoyed quite the season for the Under-18s and B Team, which he capped off with a brace against Luton in the Youth Alliance National Final at the Toughsheet Community Stadium earlier this month.
The forward also got minutes under his belt for the senior squad against Peterborough and Stevenage during the final week of the League One campaign, playing half an hour against the latter.
He was one of several youngsters offered a professional deal in Wanderers annual retained list several weeks ago.
Lawrence enjoyed his first taste of League One football and says he has learnt lots from Julian Darby this season.
“Getting that experience with the first team was amazing. Playing on this pitch, obviously people can be nervous but it feels more natural now,” he told The Bolton News.
“He (Darby) is always helping and telling me what I can improve on. He helps us improve in training every day and be as good as we can.”
Lawrence also got on the scoresheet in the finals of the LFA Youth and Senior Cups at the County Ground in Leyland.
“It’s an amazing feeling, obviously coming off a season winning three trophies, you can't do much better,” he reflected.
“I don't think it's ever been done before, and obviously we wanted to be part of history and be the best we possibly could be, and we've done that.”
“I didn’t think I would do so well but I finished with 25 goals and obviously for the B Team (in the final).
“It’s an amazing feeling to be part of. (Darby) is great, he’s an amazing man. Even in training if we’re not at the standard, he’ll demand it and that’s obviously what we want because he knows what we are capable of.”
