Manchester City Under-21s join Wanderers, Rotherham United and Oldham Athletic in Group E for next season’s Vertu Trophy.
The final spot was allocated following a draw live on Sky Sports News, which was carried out by Jobi McAnuff and Curtis Davies.
Everton, Leeds United, Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers are the other Premier League sides whose U21 squads will be taking part in the northern section next season.
It had already been revealed that Bolton would be facing Rotherham and Oldham in the group stage and the venues will be confirmed in due course, although the City match is guaranteed to be played at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.
Provisional dates for the group games are the weeks commencing September 1, October 6 and November 10 but these dates are subject to change depending on “potential international commitments at U21 level”.
Winners in 2023, Bolton have reached the quarter-final stage of the tournament for the past three seasons.
