Annabelle White has returned to Wanderers Women on a permanent basis after helping the side clinch the title last season.
The goalkeeper initially arrived last summer on dual registration from Blackburn Rovers and went on to keep 11 clean sheets as Myles Smith’s side also lifted the Challenge Cup.
A Bolton season ticket holder, White is excited by the club’s “ambition” as they prepare for the step up to the fifth tier.
“It means a lot to sign, especially being a Bolton fan,” she told the club. “Playing on the pitch last year and now coming back, it means a lot.
“We played in front of 2,000 fans and I have been a season ticket holder since I was about six. To win the league there, it was incredible.
“Getting promotion in the first season, it obviously helps and now we will drive to try and get promotion again.
“It took a lot of hard work to go and get promoted. As a group, we really worked hard and showed togetherness throughout all the games.”
White had spent the last three years at Blackburn and trained with the first-team squad at times last season.
“We are thrilled to bring Annabelle back to the club,” manager Smith added.
“Not only is she a superb goalkeeper with the potential to grow and develop, as we saw throughout last season while on dual-registration, but she is also a brilliant person and the type of character we want within our team moving into this campaign.
“She is Bolton through and through, she cares about this club and the town, and we are delighted to have her back in Wanderers colours ahead of the new season.”
White is now relishing the season ahead and believes there is no reason why Wanderers can’t be battling near the top of the table again.
“I want to develop and play as many games as I can. Playing at first-team level at Bolton and getting promoted, it was the best season I could have asked for,” she said.
“It has been a long break but we are all ready to start working hard. It is a good group of players and staff who drive a positive and competitive environment.
“It will be difficult and we will have to work hard like we did last season. But as long as we all stick together and work as hard as we did, I am sure we can go and get promoted again.”
