Jordi Osei-Tutu remains sidelined as the versatile wide man faces “a few weeks” out of action with his hamstring problem.
Osei-Tutu was absent from the squad against Lincoln City last weekend after picking up the injury against Reading several days prior.
There are no new concerns and several players got minutes under their belts in a behind-closed-doors fixture this week.
Richard Taylor played an hour and Sam Dalby got 45 minutes. The pair recently returned from groin and hamstring injuries respectively.
John McAtee, Chris Forino, Charlie Warren, Tyler Miller and Sam Inwood were also involved.
“Not too much has changed from last week,” Steven Schumacher confirmed. “Still Jordi out, he has got a hamstring problem so he won't be available.
“Nothing else from the weekend's game. It has been good this week to have a clear week and get some good training into everyone.
“The lads who have come back from long-term injuries played on Wednesday against Man Utd at Carrington so that was good.
“We got some minutes into Chris Forino and Rich Taylo. Sam Dalby played half a game, John McAtee played.
“Charlie Warren, who has been out with his wrist, played so it is good. From an injury point of view, it looks like we are improving.”
The free week was a boost for Schumacher and his squad after a demanding start to the new campaign.
It has allowed the Whites to do some detailed work on the training pitch in preparation for their Blackpool clash.
“It has been this week because it was tough, the schedules are hard,” the head coach continued.
“Especially when you are playing a Wednesday night after the weekend's game, it can take a lot out of you mentally and physically.
“So it has been good to get a clear week where you are not having that stress of that mid-week game and we can really focus on what we need to do against Blackpool. Again, the lads who played in the fixture on Wednesday at Man Utd will see the benefit of that.
“Playing in a game is better for them than doing an hour training session, so we are in a better spot this week going into what is going to be a good game.”
Osei-Tutu’s injury might leave Wanderers a touch light in that area, but Schumacher says it has not changed their plans going into the final days of the transfer window.
“It hasn't affected the plans, they were always the same,” he stated. “We are trying to bring in people all the time to make the squad stronger.
“Jordi, I don't know the exact time limit, but it won't be a real short one like 10 days. It is going to be more like a few weeks so we will just see.
“With Jordi, he is that type of personality and that type of body where we just have to play it by ear with him and see how it goes.”
