Myles Smith wants Wanderers Women to “attack” their FA Cup tie against Chester this weekend.
Bolton are aiming for more success in the cup competitions after lifting silverware in their first season under club operations.
The Whites enter in the second qualifying round which means they are potentially two victories away from the first round proper.
“We have to attack them, but sometimes you have to realise when the right time is to give players time,” Smith told the club.
“It is really difficult when you have had all the games that we’ve had. It is close to a brand new team and we have worked them so hard, day in, day out on the training pitch.
“Mentally and physically, you can see they are drained at the moment so you have to know those moments, when to step away.
“By doing that, we will be able to get some better sessions in towards the middle to back end of the week.
“From that point, we can attack the week and get into the cup games. Ultimately, we want to keep progressing and win some silverware for the club like we did last season.”

Wanderers had to settle for a point at Crewe Alexandra in the league over the weekend after Faye Knox cancelled out Sophie Maxwell’s opener.
Smith admitted there was a sense of frustration not to take all three after putting the visitors under pressure for large spells.
“We are again creating opportunities in the final third but probably need to create a little bit more,” he added.
“We played the game in their half all game. It is a really soft goal to concede and that is obviously the frustrating part.
“Equally, the last pass, lack of movement in the box or decisions we are making have not got us the win today.”
The opener was a sucker punch after a positive start, but Smith was pleased with the response from his squad.
“There was no panic from the players on the pitch,” he explained. “They continued to do the things we are asking and stayed patient in their possession.
“The goal came and made it 1-1 but there are moments where you have to realise that you can’t be as patient, you can’t keep moving the ball left to right all the time.
“You have to try and get in behind, runners in behind and pick up the second pieces. That is where have to get a little bit better – recognising those moments and when to do it.
“But the team have worked so hard and you could see that there were a lot of mentally and physically tired players from the whole of the 16 that was with us today, and that has had a bit of an effect as well.”
The manager continued: “It would be worse if it was the other way round - if we were scraping results and the performances were way off. I know everybody wants results – I do, the team does and the fans do.
“But often when you are putting in the performances over a period of time, the results to come and hopefully we can start finding them.”
