THIERRY Gale may have to wait his turn before being unleashed back on League One.

The Barbados international announced his return to fitness in midweek with a ‘spectacular’ goal in a behind-closed-doors B Team game at Lostock, nearly two months after his previous appearance against Peterborough United.

Gale had been suffering from a niggling knee issue for a few weeks before the club took the decision to pull him completely out of action, and though Bolton fans are keen to see the explosive wide man back in action, Steven Schumacher says he will be careful with his return.

“Thierry's another one who's been out long-term injured, and he did okay on Tuesday (in the B Team game against Notts County). He played well in moments, which we know he' can do, we just need him to get his fitness levels back up and then I'm sure he'll contribute again.”

Jordi Osei-Tutu has been used on the left side of the attack to counter against wing-backs or attacking full-backs who may require more defensive attention, and Schumacher has also brought in Ibrahim Cissoko against sides at which he feels he can primarily attack on the wings.

Marcus Forss is also able to play either side of the attack, which offers the Bolton boss a different type of option out wide.

Wanderers registered their first away win at Huddersfield before a run of home games but Schumacher is aware of the expectation that still rides on the game this weekend.

“There’s still pressure,” he said. “There's still a requirement to go and get points.

“You’ll moan, so will everyone. But we know that we have been playing well.

“We know that we could have done slightly better in certain areas on Saturday against Bradford.

“We know there are areas of the game that we still need to iron out and improve. But we're confident that we can go and get results against the better teams in the league.

“We think our performances have been pretty consistent. We went away to Stockport and played really well and should have got a result in that one. Went away to Huddersfield again against the team who were right up there.

“We managed to come out with all three points in that game. So, we should go in with confidence and try and get the result that we need in this one as well.”
