There wasn’t a bigger cheer in the away end than when Bonham snatched the ball in a crowded six yard box at the end. Steady all the way through.
JORDI OSEI-TUTU…6.
Can certainly be tidier on the ball. Seemed to start as a full-back but spend more time pushed on as a foil to Apter on the right. Should have had a penalty.
EOIN TOAL…7.5.
Were it not for a few cheap free kicks conceded around the penalty box it would have been a near-perfect afternoon for the skipper, who was great in the air.
CHRIS FORINO…7.
Like Toal, only the one momentary lapse which presented a good chance to Browne. Otherwise very strong indeed.
GEORGE JOHNSTON…7.5.
Covered a lot of space on the left, as a full-back, on the left side of a three, and got himself forward as well at times.
ROB APTER…7.
Some very positive signs and some very tidy football in the first half. Yes, he should have capped his debut with a goal, but we can’t have everything.
KYLE DEMPSEY…7.5.
Out-muscled Wimbledon’s midfield – quite literally – at times. Went close with one chance of his own making in the second half.
ETHAN ERHAHON…8.5.
Probably his best performance for Bolton so far. Ate up any loose possession in midfield and left no inch of the pitch untracked.
COREY BLACKETT-TAYLOR…7.5.
Took his goal very smartly indeed, and had he been a bit greedier might have scored a couple more. Looks dangerous cutting on to his right.
JOHN MCATEE…7.5.
Another step in the right direction, and a start that probably ends any speculation over his future in this transfer window. Great pass for the goal.
SAM DALBY…6.5.
Scrapped hard, got little out of the referee, and went close to connecting with a couple of set pieces and crosses in the first half.
Subs: Gale 6, 68 (for Blackett-Taylor) – Looked to have the beating of his defender.
Simons 6, 68 (for McAtee) – Got straight into the thick of it.
Cissoko 72 (for Apter) – Looked in the mood again.
Christie 83 (for Osei-Tutu) – Saw the game out well.
Burstow 83 (for Dempsey) – Tried hard to get involved at the end.

Referee: Andrew Humphries 6.5/10 – Handled the game pretty well, allowed a reasonable level of physicality, tried to keep it flowing. Marked down a touch for a couple of second-half penalty decisions which did not look great out of real time.
MAN OF THE MATCH – Ethan Erhahon
Managed to squeeze the ball out of Wimbledon’s grasp in every attack during the first half, sitting in a deeper role in front of the central defenders. Put absolutely everything in to guard the clean sheet and with the team lacking a natural playmaker in Josh Sheehan, also went looking for the ball, too.

Wanderers could have made it easier on themselves by taking just a couple of the chances that were created in the first half. It is easy to shrug after a 1-0 win but that wastefulness in front of goal has followed them all the way through this season.

ATMOSPHERE
Wanderers’ fans were on a mission from start to finish. The full catalogue of songs came out – even for the injured Amario Cozier-Duberry. And it didn’t take them long to crowbar Corey Blackett-Taylor into a tune, either.
