Dapo Afolayan
Back in the North West after three years at St Pauli, where he won promotion and played in the Bundesliga.

Paris Maghoma
Another player who headed to the Championship this month, ending a five-and-a-half-year stay at Brentford.
Made eight appearances in the Premier League last season but hadn’t featured this term, and has now signed for Norwich.
The Canaries looked to be in trouble at one stage but have picked up under Philippe Clement, who oversaw four successive wins prior to a narrow defeat against promotion hopefuls Middlesbrough on Saturday.
Kion Etete
Headed to Scotland for his third loan in 18 months and will now play alongside Dan Nlundulu and Declan John at St Mirren.
Struggled to make his mark at Rotherham during the first half of the campaign, having more bad luck with injuries.
The Buddies currently sit 10th in the Scottish Premiership after a run of seven games without victory in the league.
Jay Matete
Headed to MK Dons earlier this month to play alongside Gethin Jones and Aaron Collins at Stadium MK.
Hadn’t featured for Sunderland during the first half of the campaign following his loan spell at Wanderers last term.
The Dons are fourth in League Two and a couple of points off the automatic promotion spots as they battle for promotion.
Zach Clough
Returned to the Australian A-League earlier this month to sign for Newcastle Jets after a six-month stay in Malaysia.
Reunited with Mark Milligan, who he worked under at Adelaide United during a successful spell after leaving English football.
The Jets are currently top of the table after an impressive run of results. They are two points clear of Sydney, who have a game in hand.
Klaidi Lolos
Returned to Crawley on loan for the remainder of the campaign after failing to nail down a place in the Peterborough side.
Only made a handful of league appearances at London Road following his move from Bolton in the summer, slipping further down the pecking order after Luke Williams took charge.
Hoping to rediscover his best form at Crawley as Scott Lindsey’s side battle against the drop. They are currently in 19th place and two points above the relegation zone.
Ronan Darcy
Another player who has returned to the Broadfield Stadium on loan this month after spending the first half of the campaign at Chesterfield.
Completed a permanent move to Wigan 12 months ago but didn’t really get going in the second half of last term, with his only goal coming against Burton.
Darby made a positive impression during his first spell at Crawley and was part of the squad that won the League Two play-offs in 2024 along with Lolos.
Barry Bannan
Although it has been a decade since his loan spell at Wanderers, Barry Bannan’s move to Millwall was one of the biggest stories of the window in the EFL.
The veteran midfielder made the touch call to leave Sheffield Wednesday, where he had been since 2015 and looked set to end his playing career.
Millwall are fifth in the table as they battle to stay in the play-off places and give themselves a chance of reaching the top flight.
Keshi Anderson
Made 10 appearances during a six-month loan spell with the Whites in 2016, scoring in a draw against Southend.
Recently headed to Portsmouth following his release by Birmingham, where he had spent two-and-a-half-years and won promotion to the Championship.
Pompey are another side battling against the drop but now have a four-point cushion, and a game in hand, following a big win against West Brom at the weekend.
