Tom Cunniff says Wanderers Women have plenty to work on this week as they aim to bounce back from a disappointing afternoon against Bury.
Ava Hanson scored a hat trick at Lostock before Abbie Brown pulled one back for the Whites in the final stages.
Bolton are back in action against Fleetwood this weekend as they aim to end a run of three games without victory.
“We were well off it, I think. Very disappointed with the performance,” Cunniff told the club channels.
“We started OK the first five or 10 minutes and then could not keep the ball as well as we should be able to.
“We were off it all over the pitch, really disappointed after the last few weeks of positive performances. We just didn’t look ourselves and weren’t able to manage or control the game like we know we can do.”
He added: “Fair play to Bury. They came here, did a really good job and deserved the win. We just couldn’t get to grips with the game really.
“We were off it with intensity and quality of pass, and Bury were at it so they did deserve it. There is lots for us to work on and we will make sure we do that this week.”
One positive from the weekend was a first-team debut for Aimee Woodward, and Cunniff was pleased with the impact of his substitutes after the break.
"I thought the subs came on and did well," he insisted. "It was a very tough game to go into, we understand that.
"Aimee's debut with the first team, I thought she did well. It was very difficult circumstances to come into but they came in with a good energy.
"On another day, if we could have got an earlier goal, you never know what happens. But the game seemed to get away from us a little bit and it made it difficult for the subs, but they did well when they came on."
