Wanderers Women are targeting a strong end to the campaign despite a couple of tough tests on the road.

The Whites head to FC United of Manchester this weekend before facing league leaders AFC Fylde on the final day.

Bolton are third in the table and full of confidence following back-to-back wins against Poulton Vics over the last couple of weekends.

Head coach Tom Cunniff challenged his squad to dig deep in the final stages of the campaign and continue their momentum.

“It’s business as usual,” he told the club channels. “We will plan for FC United and take it one game at a time.

“It is our last two games so it is that time of the season where people are tired, but they want to give everything they have got before the end of the season.

“We go into them full of confidence because of our last two games, but we know they will be tough games.”

Ella Tweedle scored a hat trick last weekend, with Poppy Wallis, Ellie Thomas-Leek and Flo Rigby also getting on the scoresheet.

“Really pleased with the performance, another great three points,” Cunniff added. “It was our last home game so we were glad to score a few goals and entertain the supporters.

“We knew they would come with a different sort of gameplan, but we had to stay professional throughout and stick to ours, and we knew we would be OK.

“We did that from the first whistle. We brought the intensity, scored an early goal and that settled us down a bit to play the football that we know we can do.

“We are pleased with the goals we scored. I thought Poulton defended well and on another day we maybe could have got a few more, but overall we are pleased.”
