Wanderers Women wrapped up their campaign with a 4-2 win against Accrington Stanley in a friendly at the Wham Stadium.
The Whites led 4-0 at the break after a dominant first-half display against tier six opposition.
Ella Tweedle bagged a brace, with Flo Rigby and Abbie Brown also getting on the scoresheet for Tom Cunniff’s side.
The hosts pulled a couple of goals back after the break to halve the deficit, but Bolton managed to see out the game.
The contest began at a high tempo, with both sides looking to impose themselves early and create chances, but it was Bolton who struck first after 14 minutes when Tweedle converted Brown’s cross.
The visitors doubled their lead just before the half-hour mark when Rigby fired home a free-kick. Eight minutes later, it was 3-0 with Brown turning goalscorer.
There was still time before the interval for Wanderers to add a fourth. Tweedle netted her second of the game to put her side firmly in control.
The hosts showed renewed energy after the break, making five changes at half-time and adopting a positive approach from the restart.
Ellie Parker came close early in the second half, firing narrowly wide from Melissa Adamson’s cross.
The pressure paid off just after the hour mark when Zara Oomman found the back of the net.
Buoyed by that goal, the hosts continued to push forward and reduced the deficit further on 72 minutes when Parker fired home.
“It was a fantastic occasion at the Wham Stadium, with both sides playing some excellent football,” said Stanley Women chair Sami Smithson.
“Credit to Bolton, who provided a strong test and have had a great season in the league above. We wish them all the best for the 2026/27 campaign,” she added.
After the summer break, Cunniff's side will be aiming to build on their third-place finish in tier five and push for another promotion to continue their climb up the pyramid.
