THE Shakers signed off their home campaign with a stop-start stalemate against their derby rivals.
Bury might have broke the deadlock in the first minute when Shaun Harrad failed to connect with David Worrall’s diagonal ball into the Latics box, and that was the closest the hosts came to a goal.
Giles Coke forced a fine near-post save from Oldham keeper Dean Bouzanis with a shot from the edge of the penalty area in the fourth minute.
Harrad had a decent shout for a penalty on 16 minutes when he was taken out from behind by Jean Yves M’Voto, but referee Andy Madley waved play on.
The second half lacked fluency, particularly after Oldham midfielder Youssouf M’Changama was knocked unconscious in his own penalty area before receiving a lengthy spell of treatment.
He came round while on the pitch but was taken off a stretcher before he was taken to Fairfield Hospital for a precautionary scan.
