AMIR Khan believes he learned enough from sparring with Manny Pacquaio to know he can beat his former stablemate.

The two former world champions are in talks over fighting each other next and Bolton star Khan is confident he will come out on top.

Both fighters have been out of action since May when Pacquaio lost to Floyd Mayweather in the richest fight in history and Khan beat Chris Algieri.

Khan also harbours hopes of fighting Mayweather if he can entice the unbeaten superstar to come out of retirement.

But he says a meeting with Pacquaio would be "a great fight".

Speaking in his role as ambassador for MaxiNutrition, he said: "I want to fight Manny Pacquaio.

"Me and Manny have been friends for a long time but sometimes you have to put the friendship to one side and fight each other.

"We have done plenty of rounds in the ring together sparring.

"No one has ever seen the sparring sessions – we have never leaked any of the videos out – even though I have a lot of videos of our sparring sessions.

"What I have learned in the last few years with my boxing I can definitely take the fight against Manny Pacquaio and beat Manny Pacquiao."
