A TURTON schoolgirl has been named Lancashire Under-13s girls' player of the year.
Bradshaw academy player Daisy Mullan has been in fine form for the Red Rose county as an all-rounder, top scoring with 62 last season.
The sports mad 13-year-old also plays hockey for her school team and football for Academy Juniors, who won the West Lancashire Girls U12s League Cup and finished runners-up in the league.
"She was over the moon," said her father, Chris Mullan.
"She was quite excited about the fact it was her first proper awards ceremony.
"She has won the player of the year at Bradshaw before but this was a big ceremony.
"Daisy is so modest as when she won she wanted to give me the award and then go and sit with her friends.
"She is bursting with natural talent but she admits you don't get this far unless you can listen to the coaches at Lancashire and Bradshaw."
