KEARSLEY'S professional from their 1979 Bolton League title-winning year, Chris Perrott, has died.
The Australian led the Springfield Road men to the championship that year when they became the only team ever to go through a league season unbeaten – a record that still stands today.
Perrott died on Saturday, the same day when a reunion of players from that team took place in his honour.
The reunion had actually been instigated by the Australian who had contacted the club to say he intended to come over to see his old team-mates, but then fell too ill to travel.
