KEARSLEY became the first team to qualify for the Dixon Air Conditioning T20 quarter-finals with five wins out of five in the East group following their victory against Tonge.

Kearsley made 139-9 in last Friday’s game with Cameron Murray top scoring with 33. Tilaksha Malshan took 3-24 and Danny Holt 4-22.

Tonge’s opening partnership of 41 was followed by a collapse in which all 10 wickets fell for 54 runs, with three wickets apiece for Grant Cordin and Charlie Dorsey.

Little Lever remain in second place after their 58-run win against Darcy Lever. Adil Nisar carried his bat for 61, and was supported by the Andertons, Simon and Curtis, with 31 and 30, respectively.

Adlington are top of the North-West group after restricting Blackrod to 149-7, with Majid Majeed taking 4-13. The Shoveltons then rescued Adlington with an 86-run partnership, Jack hitting 74 from 47 balls and Tom 38 not out as they won by six wickets with an over to spare.

Horwich reached 142-9 with Connor Dalton rescuing them from 64-5 with 44 from 27 deliveries, Robbie Holgate taking 3-34.

Lostock were 103-3, but requiring 40 runs from 21 balls lost the remaining seven wickets for 20 runs. Harry McManus and Adam Knowles shared six wickets equally.

In the West group Dave Tantisis Hall smashed 118 from 57 balls at Golborne and along with Adeel Baig put on 172 in an opening partnership. Shohaib Mahboob and Tim Halliwell kept the home side in the game in the early overs, but wickets fell at regular intervals and the innings ended at a creditable 185-9 with Dave Baines taking 3-25.

However, Golborne still lead the group as Daisy Hill defeated Westhoughton by four wickets on Tuesday. Qaiser Abbas scored 52 and 48 from Mark Atherton took Westhoughton to 154-5.

Daisy Hill seemed down and out at 26-4 but a century partnership between Jake Wilde and James Mann steered them towards victory.

Walkden lead the South group by one point following their victory against Farnworth Social Circle. Jake Scicluna took 3-19 for Circle, but Jon Fowler hammered 86 off 30 balls late in the Walkden innings to take them to 197-6. Opening batsmen Jake O’Byrne and Ryan Ayres had put on 86 by the 11th over but Adam’s Newton’s 4-18 saw the innings subside to 131-6.

Despite 44 from Fida Hussain, Little Hulton could only muster 103, which was knocked off by Jon Kerrigan and Ross Sutton for Farnworth in the eighth over.

In the North group, Astley Bridge made 135-7 with Syd De Silva scoring 37 and Mars Mohammad taking 3-19. Bradshaw fell 12 runs short despite 49 for Sachithra Serasinghe.

Eagley’s 168-6, thanks largely to 37 from Mike Ward and 32 from Jordon Lomax were matched exactly by Heaton, for whom Joe Gatenby-Brown made 42 and Oliver Sutcliffe 35.
