With De Silva, pictured, top-scoring Egerton recovered from 11-2 to complete their overs on 195-6, with Dave Hamnett unbeaten on 34.

In reply, only three Clifton batsmen reached double figures, Will Halton taking 3-39, and they finished on 158-9.

Egerton will visit Stand this weekend.

In Division 1B Astley and Tyldesley continue to keep pace with Walshaw, emphatically beating hosts Westleigh.

Chris Ware led the bowling attack with 5-44, with support from Chathura Randunu (3-29) and Tom Pemberton (2-28) as the home side were bowled out for 110.

Openers Alex Heaton and James Loveridge then knocked off the runs with a degree of ease, both finishing unbeaten on 51 to see A&T home.

Liam Watkinson top-scored with 44 and Alex Hughes hit 40 but three ducks in the top six contributed to a total of 183-8.

And although Umega Chathuranga took 3-22 and Watkinson collected two wickets that total was not enough as Stayley reached 184-5 in the 46th over.

Astley and Tyldesley will host Droylsden on Saturday, while Edgworth welcome Heyside.
