WANDERERS Under-18s scored six goals for the second week running as they hammered Huddersfield Town 6-1 at the Eddie Davies Academy.

Matty Barnes bagged a hat-trick as Nicky Spooner's side built on last week's 6-3 victory at Hull to again hit six of the best against Yorkshire opposition in the U18 Professional Development League.

The young Whites started brightly and could have opened their account early in the game with better decisions.

They did break the deadlock, though, on 15 minutes when Ronan Darcy showed good skill to feed Luca Connell who made n o mistake.

Wanderers continued to create chances but took a slender 1-0 lead into the break.

After the interval, the young Whites again struck first when Max Broughton headed home from a corner.

The hosts then went on a scoring spree with Connell netting his second soon after with an excellent free kick.

The Terriers pulled a goal back through Micah Obiero but Wanderers ensured there was no way back into the game.

Forward Eddie Brown came off the bench and immediately had an impact on the game, creating two quick goals for Barnes.

He then completed his hat-trick with a well-taken individual goal to seal another three points for Wanderers.

Coach Spooner was pleased and said: "It was another very good team performance, scoring six for the second week running."

The Under-18s are on the road on Saturday when they travel to Nottingham Forest, kick off noon.
