Striker Glynn Hurst has signed an 18-month contract with the Shakers after a three-month loan spell.

The former Shrewsbury Town hitman has been a revelation at Gigg Lane - firing eight goals in 18 games, including six in his first five starts, since joining on September 21.

And the Shakers have been quick to tie up the 30-year-old former Notts County, Chesterfield and Stockport County forward following the completion of his successful loan deal.

"Glynn has a one-in-two scoring rate and any manager would bite your hand off to have a striker like that. He has done what we got him for," said Shakers boss Chris Casper.

"He is also a good lad and good in the dressing room.

Blackpool striker Matthew Blinkhorn, 21, is also staying with Bury after extending his loan spell until February 22.

"Matthew has done well for us and just needs a goal. He has a great work ethic and gives us a good option coming off the bench with his size and strength," Casper added.

On-loan goalkeeper Andy Warrington, who made just two appearances for the Shakers in an injury-plagued stay, has returned to Doncaster.

Bury have also given permission to Macclesfield Town to extend the loan of Matthew Tipton until May.

The former Oldham frontman has also been passed to play for the Silkmen in the third round of the FA Cup against Premiership champions Chelsea.

Tipton has scored two goals in 17 appearances during his spell at Macclesfield.
