Bury North MP James Frith has expressed further concerns for the future of the town’s football club following a meeting with Shakers manager Ryan Lowe.
Staff and players remain unpaid with a winding up petition in the High Court having been adjourned with prospective buyers seemingly waiting in the wings.
Owner Steve Dale has been given until June 19 to sell the club and pay off creditors, including the tax man.
The MP and Lowe, who masterminded Bury’s promotion back to League One only three weeks ago, sat down on Monday to discuss the crisis club.
Mr Frith posted on Twitter: “A good lunch meeting with @rlowe15 today.
“I’m struck that, with no update on sale of @buryfcofficial from the owner as yet, there’s a real risk of losing staff, players and even the manager, who remain unpaid and on whom we rely to have a club left by the time of the next judgement.”
Lowe , the only player to win promotion with the Shakers as both a player and a manager, is being heavily linked with the vacant managerial post at Plymouth with a decision expected in the coming days.
