CHORLEY Golf Club, a member of the BGA, produced an amazing feat for charity last week.

Led by the club captains Colin Armstrong and Barbara Kent, they played the first hole on no less than 21 courses covering the 14 clubs of the BGA and seven from the Preston & District Association – all in one day!

Colin and Barbara started at 05.45 am at Horwich and – together with a number of volunteers – they finally completed their last putt at 6.25 pm at their home club at Chorley and it took them 12 hours and 40 minutes.

Both captains gave their thanks for the very special help they received and to all those who supported them with their generous donations which raised approximately £1, 500 in aid of Prostate Cancer UK and The Compassionate Friends Association, supporting bereaved parents and families of children who have died.

The Captains final word was “It was a fantastic day and we had a wonderful if a little exhausting time!!”
