A SHORTLIST of nominees has been announced for the annual Bolton Active Sports Awards, organised by Bolton Council.
The cream of the crop from the town's sporting community have been highlighted in 10 different categories.
Winners will be announced at a special awards ceremony in the Premier Suite at Macron Stadium on Friday, September 16.
Former Wanderers striker Kevin Davies and his wife Emma will be special guests on the night, which is set to be presented by Bolton FM's Matt Holden.
Cllr John Byrne, cabinet member for culture, youth and sport, said: "Some of the borough's biggest and best achievements in the sporting world will take centre stage at this year's awards ceremony.
"Bolton has a fantastic network of sports teams and physical activities, and it's encouraging to know that so many people enjoy taking part and keeping fit.
"Not only that, there are scores of people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure things run smoothly, including coaches, mentors and volunteers.
"The sports awards are an ideal opportunity for everyone to come together and celebrate each other's achievements.
"It's going to be a great night."
Last year's awards attracted more than 400 guests and tickets are now available to buy from the Decathlon Bolton store and Castle Hill Centre, priced £27.50 for adults and £14 for children, which will include a three-course meal with a variety of acts, games, performances, guest speaker and a disco.
