YOUNGSTERS got a first taste of taking part in a triathlon when Team Deane staged a sample session.
Part of the Go Tri initiative set up by British Triathlon to make multi sport accessible, 11 local boys and girls aged between eight and 15 tried their hand at the sport at Smithills.
The relatively new club is growing successfully with adult and junior members, the youngsters' section having been helped by former Bolton Wanderers footballer Kevin Davies's KiDs of Bolton charity that set the club on its way to establishing the section.
Based around the Deane area of Bolton, the club runs two sessions a week for juniors – one focusing on the bike and run disciplines and one on the swim.
