SEDDONS lifted the BSF Ladies’ Hockey League Hospital Cup after beating holders Roydon A 6-3 in the final.
But they had to come from behind after Mel Cook and Bernadette O’Brian gave Roydon a 2-0 lead within the first two minutes.
Seddons hit back within a minute of a breathtaking start, Kerry Anderton halving the arrears.
Seddons drew level before half time and took the lead after the break from a penalty flick which was converted by Nicola Bentley.
Seddons stretched their lead when Alison O’Donnell scored following a penalty corner but the excitement continued as Roydon made it 4-3 with a goal from Brooklyn O’Brian from open play.
It was not to be for Roydon, however, as Joanne Mullard converted in front of goal after being set up by an energetic run and pass from Anderton before Young had the final word when she turned in a penalty corner.
The last game of the season is the final of the Reynolds Cowell on Thursday, 7pm start, at Canon Slade between Seddons, who are on 16 points, and Eagley Quins who are on 56.
