JACK Thomas says he is “super excited” to get his Olympic season started as he prepares for today’s first race of the World Cup skeleton campaign in Lake Placid, New York.
Competition starts at 1.30pm British time, and the Westhoughton-based slider will be hoping to kick off with a positive performance with less than 100 days to go until the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, in February.
“I’m super excited to get this Olympic year started,” said the 27-year-old former Horwich RMI Harrier.
“This is my first ever Olympic season. It’s obviously on my mind that everything I do is towards that end goal.
“And we’re starting on a track which I feel could be a really good one for me.”
