THIS week's delve into The Bolton News picture archives has unearthed a picture of the Bolton County Grammar/Breightmet Schools under-13s team taken in April 1980.

There is no other information accompanying the photograph and we would love to hear from anyone who can shed some more light on it.

Did you play for the team or do you recognise anyone in the line-up?

Email david.pye@nqnw.co.uk with any memories.

THE second picture this week was first published in the November 28 sporting nostalgia section and features a Bolton Lads and Girls Club Under-11s team.

We asked for information and the year it was taken and there was a significant response, including several who recognised current Premier League player at Brighton, Dale Stephens on the back row.

Assistant manager and physio of the team at the time, Derek Meace, got in touch and said: "I can’t remember the year but it was around 2002/3.

Pictured, back from left, are: Me, Joe Gavin, Jack Maher, Dale Stephens (Brighton), Shane Moore, Liam Ronnie (goalkeeper), Lewis Chorlton, Dominic Hulton, Kyle Boyle, Tony Fallows (manager); front, Carl Entwistle, Steven Andrunysion, James Taylor, John Davies, Alex Meace, trialist, Michael Kubiak."

James Taylor recognised himself on the picture and said: "I think the picture was around 1999.

"I'm pictured bottom row, just left of centre.

"Top row, third from left, is Dale Stephens who currently plays for Brighton in the Premier League."

Meanwhile, Dale Stephens' nan Constance Booth emailed: "The fourth person from the left on the back row is my grandson Dale Stephens.

"He was just 10 years old at the time and now 28, so the picture was taken 1999/2000.

"He is now the midfielder at Brighton and Hove Albion FC recently promoted into the Premier League – that's what I call dedication.

"I am so proud of him."

Alan Parkinson, who now lives in Queensland, added: "The under-11s' team sponsor is Sherington Accident Specialist.

"This company is owned by John Sherington, who I attended Bolton School with and played with at Old Bolts in the mid-80s.

"The last time I saw John his business was on Chorley Street."
