THIS week’s delve into the sporting archives at The Bolton News has dug up this picture of youngsters from both St Brendan's RC Primary School in Harwood and St John's RC Primary School from Bromley Cross and was taken in April 1983.

The information accompanying the picture says the teams were sharing the Canon Weston Trophy after a 3-3 draw in the final.

The two captains on the picture holding the trophy are St John's' Sam Cowen, left, and Lee Mason, of St Brendan's, both aged 11 at the time.

Do you recognise any of the other players or did you play for either school team?

Do you have any memories of that final?

Email any recollections to david.pye@nqnw.co.uk

THE second picture is of St William’s FC taken in August 1988 and published in the sporting nostalgia section on November 29.

Reader Jason Cunniff recognised himself on the photograph and got in touch.

He said: "I played for St Williams FC – I'm the one in the middle holding the ball.

"It was nice to see a memory like that."
