In the December 13 edition, we featured the second picture of youngsters from two teams from Eagley Junior School and Hardy Mill CP School.

It was taken in May 1987 and shows the teams showing off their prize as the joint winners of the Turton five-a-side competition for upper juniors.

Rick Jefferson got in touch and said: "Was just home for Christmas and my mum showed me a picture from The Bolton News as part of a flashback article about the sharing of the local trophy in 1987.

"Thought I might as well drop you a note to say I was the lad front right from Hardy Mill.

"Others on front row, as I recall left to right, were Russell, Howard Slater, Stephen Foy, Thompson – I think, Christian Parkinson, Michael Page and me.

"Lovely to see it in the paper."
