ANDY Staveley took bronze in the V55 Lancashire Cross-Country Championships at Blackburn.
Staveley completed the 10k Witton Park course in 40mins 44secs, just a minute behind Pete Hopley who was the first of the three Burnden representatives to finish, sixth V50 in 39:37.
Keith Thomas was fifth V60 in 41:39.
Liz McLellan was first to finish the Central Lancs New Year Half Marathon at Lea Town, coming home third F45 in 1:37:20.
Isaline Pollitt was next home, second F55 in 1:41:51.

Marcus Taylor led Burnden’s representatives home at the Daleside Auld Lang Syne New Year’s Eve fell race, a testing 6.7 miles with 1,000 feet of climb starting in Penistone Hill Country Park, Wharfedale.
Taylor completed the course in 52:49 with Hopley next, six minutes quicker than his time last year with 55:18.
Staveley crossed the line in 56:08.

Jackie Oakes finished the Liverbird women’s double marathon in Liverpool in fifth place and was 11th overall across the two days with a combined time of 8:10:47.
She completed the first in 3:58:01 and the second 24 hours later in 4:12:46.
